WILL YTURRIAGA

Will Yturriaga began his training in 1987 with Sensei Samarrai, a disciple of O'Sensei Richard Kim. He taught Will full contact Shorinji-Ryu Karate, weapons, Bagua Chang, meditation, and nei gung. This foundation sparked a life-long interest of studying the traditional martial arts. This eventually led Will to the Lo Man Kam Wing Chun Kung Fu school in San Francisco's Chinatown, taught by Sifu John Kang. In 2003, Will became Instructor of the San Francisco class. He taught the San Francisco class for over 6 years, focusing on training a core group of instructors. Once that was completed in late 2009, he left the San Francisco class in the care of his senior student Henry Lyne in order to start a new Wing Chun school and teach privately in the Northern Bay Area. He also continues to train with his first teacher, Sensei Samarrai in meditation, philosophy, and Bagua Chang in the traditional master-apprentice manner. Sensei's constant message and training is that true martial arts cannot be practically employed without a proper base of morals, etiquette and philosophy. "You must understand that the philosophical essence of the martial arts is Humility" Sensei Samarrai once told him, "Which is comprised of three things: Respect, Compassion, and Gratitude." Will is committed to passing on these traditional methods to the next generation of martial art practitioners.

LINDSEY FRIEDRICH

Lindsey began practicing yoga 7 years ago and immediately fell in love with it. Having discovered for herself its self empowering and healing effects she decided to begin formal study, receiving her 200 hour Teacher Training Certification through YogaWorks. She is currently half way through finishing the 300 hour Professional Training program. Lindsey pulls from various yoga schools in her classes, as they are alignment driven yet incorporate aspects of vinyasa flow. She believes that if everyone had the opportunity to practice yoga the world would be a better place. Please join Lindsey and share her love and passion for the practice and experience its deeply powerful and transformative effects.

WENDY HENEGHAN

Wendy has been a student of yoga for several years and has been teaching for five years.  Her interest in prenatal yoga began during her first pregnancy which occurred while undergoing her Iyengar yoga teacher training.  She found yoga to be an excellent way to prepare for childbirth, for connecting to the baby growing inside, and for the ongoing challenges of parenting.

Wendy's classes focus on postural alignment and the development of strength, stamina, flexibility and balance, as well as concentration and relaxation.  Poses that alleviate common ailments during pregnancy and that support both mom and baby are given.  In addition to these things, the importance of drawing the mothers' awareness inward to explore the sensations felt in the awakening body and mind with non-judgment is introduced.

As the mother of two young children, she has had the opportunity to practice under the instruction of several wonderful prenatal yoga teachers throughout her own pregnancies. Wendy is continually learning from her students and is thankful to be able to give them yogic support during this amazing phase of life.

Wendy completed a 500 hour Advanced Studies Teaching Training Program at The Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco where she apprenticed with Kathy Alef.  She has attended workshops on teaching safely and effectively to pregnant women with Jane Austin and with Bobby Clennell.  She has also taken a home study certification course on prenatal and postnatal yoga through Aura Wellness Center.

SUSAN McCORMICK

Susan McCormick has pursued self-awareness through movement since 1986 beginning with tai chi and evolving over the years into a dedicated yoga practice.  While her style is Iyengar-based, (she completed the 200-hour advanced studies training at Turtle Island Yoga in San Anselmo) influences in her teaching are drawn from all philosophies that encourage honesty, compassion and a practical approach. Lessons learned through being  a wife and mother,  loyal friend, working artist, and former wanderer in the corporate world inform the yoga that she receives with gratitude and passes on with a light heart and a firm hand.
